Sevier Caring and Coping 2024
Family and professional caregivers will find ongoing support and leave each session with the following:
- A better understanding of dementia, how it progresses, and available treatments
- Communications strategies and behavioral interventions proven to work for those living with Alzheimer’s and related dementias
- Tips to help caregivers take better care of themselves
Participating caregivers will be educated and inspired by experts in dementia care. A physician will provide an overview of the medical aspects of Alzheimer’s and related diseases and the exciting research into new medical treatments in the pipeline.
Beth A. D. Nolan, Ph.D., Director of Research and Policy, and Lead Mentor and Trainer for Positive Approach to Care® (PAC) will share proven caregiver strategies and self-care tips. Dr. Nolan believes that the best way to improve lives of people with dementia, their families and other caregivers is through the combination of education and support for everyone in our communities.
