Make it Personal
Share your story and inspire everyone you know to give, because all of us want to Make Alzheimer’s a Memory but not everyone can make it to the walk. Spread your enthusiasm and passion for the cause amongst your family, friends, co-workers, church family, neighbors and civic group members. Let them know how you and your family have been impacted by this disease, and you may be surprised to learn just how many people you know are familiar with Alzheimer’s and dementia, too.
Your personal walk website will help you with ready-to-go emails and social media posts and enable donors to contribute immediately online. A hand-written note or mailed letter with your signature is also a timeless way to reach out for support. Download this Friends and Family letter to get started.
Team Up
Families, churches, businesses, schools and friends often team up to honor loved ones and show their support. Alzheimer’s Tennessee hosts Kickoff events for the Walk to Make Alzheimer’s a Memory where Team Captains (aka the team leaders) can pick up tips and tools. You can also host your own team kickoff to capture people’s attention and raise awareness and funds. Invite people to join your team or donate. Then encourage members to also write personal letters, emails and social media posts.
Have FUN while FUNdraising!
FUNdraising is a wonderful way to bring people together and give everyone in your circle an opportunity to show their support. Maybe you have a talent for food, crafting, making jewelry or throwing a party - or you know someone who does? Be creative while providing donors a reason to give.
Competition Drives Donations
Make FUNdraising even more FUN, by competing to see who can raise the most money! A little friendly competition may drive everyone to work harder, while supporting Alzheimer’s Tennessee.
Invite another church, office, school, class, neighborhood, etc. to team up and raise funds. Challenge them to determine who will be the biggest champion for Alzheimer’s – and maybe winning bragging rights (or something more valuable) will motivate both groups.
Top FUNdraisers & Teams
Keep FUNdraising through the donation deadline to qualify for Prizes awarded at an annual Appreciation Luncheon to Top Individuals, Teams, Youth and the Pet Mascot.
Walkers who raise $50+ and sign up by the pre-registration deadline will receive a souvenir t-shirt at the event. Registered walkers who raise $100 or more will also receive a special incentive item at the walk. A third gift from Alzheimer’s Tennessee is awarded on the day of the event to registered walkers who collect $200+.
Why Support Alzheimer’s Tennessee?
For more than 40 years, Alzheimer’s Tennessee has been headquartered in Tennessee. With six regional offices, the 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization continues to be the local and statewide leader for education, research, advocacy, and support services for those living with Alzheimer’s and dementia. The success of the Walk To Make Alzheimer’s a Memory and the critical funding it provides would not be possible without participants who raise money. Walkers and corporate sponsors that donate enable Alzheimer’s Tennessee to continue to be a resource in our communities. For more information, visit
